Gwynedd Air Target Club
We are a fully inclusive club, we started off as a shooting club just for people with disabilities and acquired equipment to help people with all sorts of impairments, such as Belgium Spring Stands, 'Castle' stands, tripods, lightweight guns through to fully Olympic standard FWB 700s. We also have a competition pistol with changeable grips. But so many 'able bodied' people asked to join that we have now opened our doors to all (with very few exceptions).
We also use a SCATT system for anyone wishing to shoot, it is a completely safe way to get people into target shooting and is also a good aid for people to really refine their skills to an extremely high standard. SCATT is used for anyone who enters the club to shoot, they can not shoot live until they can prove that they can hit the black pretty consistently.
We are set to a high standard for such a young club, with help and guidance from Disability Sports Wales we are and have many courses going on. We have 6 -8 RCO's, 6 of us are now Club Instructors via NSRA and we will be heading for club coach awards this year. We have a full committee and are looking to become one of the best all round clubs in Wales, I think even now we are quite unique in North Wales.
